The Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Association is an indispensable NGO in Hungarian-Chinese relations, which has been working for decades to promote cultural relations between the two countries. As a long-established and respected non-profit organisation, it has provided a background, opportunity and stimulus for civil and cultural cooperation between the two countries since its foundation.

Our aim is to show the diversity and depth of Chinese culture, while at the same time presenting a modern, realistic image of China to the public in Hungary. At the same time, we also play a role in promoting Hungarian cultural heritage in China.

The Hungarian-Chinese Friendship Society is a recognised organisation in both countries, so we have the opportunity to present an authentic image of China in Hungary and a positive image of Hungary in China through culture and people-to-people contacts. We are committed to strengthening Hungarian-Chinese relations. We play a role in building institutional, organisational and people-to-people links between the two countries.

The CBCT plays a linking role in civil and cultural relations between the two countries. Through our civil diplomacy activities, we support the development of cultural, educational, economic and diplomatic relations. We strive to work with both Hungarian and Chinese partners to promote the development of social relations between the two countries and to expand civil, cultural, educational and tourism exchanges.

The civil diplomacy activities of the MKBT cover a wide range. It is an important objective of our Society to strengthen people-to-people and people-to-organisation relations in our bilateral relations. We create a bridge between the two cultures, we bring together and support initiatives and projects in Hungary that aim to promote Chinese and Hungarian culture and encourage exchanges. As an umbrella organisation, we support projects throughout the country aimed at promoting Chinese culture, and promote them together with partner institutions. Through our cultural activities, we support the image building and social engagement of economic and business actors in the Hungarian-Chinese relationship.

MKBT is an intergenerational community. Among our members are renowned, credible professionals, sinologists, university professors, translators, interpreters, diplomats, former ambassadors, journalists, businessmen, but also well-known Chinese personalities, businessmen, artists, Hungarians living in Hungary or in China, Hungarian Hungarians studying Chinese, as well as young Chinese studying Hungarian. This inter-generational community is of great intellectual value and offers an excellent opportunity for knowledge transfer and for further strengthening the ties between the two peoples in the future by involving the younger generation.

Our board members all have a strong China-related professional background and experience. They are committed to strengthening Hungarian-Chinese relations and contribute to the efficient and successful operation of MKBT by volunteering their time.
